Our Top 5 Kitchen Trends of 2018

If you’re looking to upgrade your kitchen this year, there are many trends that are becoming increasingly popular. With our bespoke kitchen design service, Holmfields Leicester can help you to create your dream kitchen, whilst incorporating some of these top trends.

1. Copper Kitchens

Copper has become really popular in kitchens at the moment and as greys are so on trend, it is the perfect contrast.  Using copper profiles with dark grey doors and large pan drawers to create a handleless kitchen looks fabulous. Copper colour doors, glass splashbacks and even a range of handles.  You can easily complement your kitchen as most of the high street stores are selling a fabulous range of accessories, helping you create a touch of glamour.

2. Concealed Lighting

Lighting choices can bring a great atmosphere to a room, particularly if the kitchen is used as a social space. Along with your choice of ceiling lights, why not add a layer of LED strips to the underside of eye-level cupboards? These light up your work surface and add some contrast to your existing lighting.

3. Statement Patterns

Make your kitchen stand out by incorporating a statement pattern.  It is really popular to use a patterned floor tile to really lift a plain kitchen and give it some substance.  There are beautiful granite tops available which have a natural pattern with swirls of colour reaming through. If you are not brave enough to go for one of these ideas, you can create the look by opting for a patterned wallpaper on a feature wall.

4. Multi-Purpose Kitchen Islands

Kitchen islands are there to make a statement and if you have a large space you can make them multi-purpose, by including a hob or a wine cooler or maybe a fridge or a sink.  Adding breakfast bar stools makes for a sociable space in your kitchen.

5. Two-Tone Cabinets

Using contrasting colours in the kitchen is a popular choice.  Choosing colours such as greys, concretes and whites give a subtle effect.  People are becoming braver in their choices and opting for deep blues with a pale grey or an off-white on the rest of their kitchen, or a bold deep colour on their island units.
