Monday

Scott and Pete - BORA trip

Monday consisted of travelling from Leicester to Manchester Airport and flying to Munich Airport in Germany followed by an hour transfer to the Hotel San Gabriele, Rosenheim and arrived about 10.30pm. We had a few drinks at the hotel bar and then went to bed for an early start in the morning.

Tuesday

Rosenheim Centre - Germany - BORA trip

The training started at 2.00pm today so we had some free time to explore the beautiful Rosenheim centre which was a 20 minute walk from the hotel. We had a look around the centre and had a look in some of the shops in the area and had a coffee. We had a ‘Currywurst’ for a snack which was a bratwurst with some curry sauce and spices served with a  soft pretzel. At lunchtime we sat in the 26 degree sunshine and enjoyed a couple of Weissbier pints and met up with some of the other UK companies that had come on the same training and also our rep for Bora, Andy.

BORA Academy - Raubling

2.00pm – We head over to the BORA Academy in Raubling and start the training to learn about all of the products they offer and gain inspiration. After a few breaks and more training we visited the Werkhaus (this is the owners WILLI BRUCKBAUER kitchen company that he started before BORA) Willi Bruckbauer – sportsman, founder & visionary (bora.com)

In the evening we did a cooking evening together, firstly we were taken to the top floor of the BORA building and the views were incredible of the Bavarian Alps. The cooking evening was a chance to get hands-on with the appliances so everyone got involved with the cooking. It was a nice relaxed evening drinking beer and wine and eating some delicious food that everyone had helped prepare and cook.

Wednesday

BORA Academy - BORA X BO Oven

We head over to the BORA academy for more training from 9.00am which involved training on different ducting systems and a visit to the experience centre where all the products were on display including the oven ‘BORA X BO’ where they showed us what is included with the delivery when ordered and how to use the appliance.

Lunchtime we had some lunch at the Werkhaus cooked by the company’s chefs followed by a visit to the on-site cycling store.

After lunch was the cycling tour which I went on, they provided us with all of the clothing (which we get to keep) and the cycle and helmet. Each cycle was labelled up with our names and each country’s flag depending on whose name was on it. This was a 36km cycle ride on road bikes cycling through the beautiful area of Southern Bavaria. This was my first time on a road bike so was a bit wobbly to start with but eventually got the hang of it and by the end I felt great and achieved and experienced something I usually would not do, it even inspired me to purchase my own road bike once I got back from the trip which I now use cycling around in Leicester (but it is not the same as Bavaria) but I wear all the kit when I go out.

BORA Trip - Bike Ride Germany

The evening we went to a restaurant where they had a band and we had many drinks and some lovely food. Most of us had the Pork Schnitzel which was delicious!

Thursday

Thursday we were up at 4am to travel to the airport back to the UK!
